Cara Bender

Meet Cara

Cara Bender is a blossoming operatic soprano from Corning, New York. Cara recently finished her summer as a Studio Artist at The Florentine Opera Company in Milwaukee, where she performed Donna Anna and Contessa Almaviva in abridged versions of Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro. Before beginning her summer residency, Cara was a featured ensemble member in the premiere of Adrift, a choral opera presented by Boston's Nightingale Vocal Ensemble, a group that she continues to perform with on various unique projects.


In 2021, Cara concluded her second summer as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera, where she covered Masha in The Queen of Spades and was featured on multiple concerts, performing selections from Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Bluebeard's Castle, Così fan tutte, Die Walküre, and The Rape of Lucretia. 

Cara Bender obtained her Master's degree in Vocal Performance in the spring of 2020 at The New England Conservatory of Music. In NEC's 2019/2020 season, she performed the role of Soprano in Argento's Postcard from Morocco as well as Giunone in Cavalli's La Calisto. Passionate about art song, Cara gave three performances in the Liederabend concert series at The New England Conservatory, and performed on multiple recitals.
